  10. The bottom line

Retrium is a mature, facilitation-first retrospective tool. It charges per Team Room with unlimited users and offers guided facilitation across 16 techniques, including team radars. Most people searching for Retrium alternatives already use it and are checking two things.

Price: Team is $39 per Team Room per month, and Business is listed at $715 per Team Room per year, billed annually. AI: Retrium's features and pricing pages list no AI features.

Retro Rabbit is our product, and it's first on this list because it answers both: the same per-team pricing model at a lower entry price, and AI (CarrotIQ) in a plan you can buy today. It's also built so notes collected during the sprint turn into action items that come back until they're done. Four more tools follow with their verified prices and main features. We checked every price and feature on each vendor's own site on October 23, 2026.

1. Retro Rabbit

Retro Rabbit runs async and live sprint retrospectives built around one loop: the team writes notes as the sprint happens, CarrotIQ turns them into groups, summaries and suggested action items, and those action items follow the team into the next retro.

Notes during the sprint. Each team's board stays open all sprint. When something goes well or badly, anyone drops a note in from the dashboard's Quick Notes, or from Slack with /retro if the team uses Slack. By retro day, the board holds the whole sprint, not just what people remember in the meeting.

CarrotIQ, the AI. CarrotIQ is part of the Pro AI plan and the 14-day trial. It:

  • groups related notes automatically and names each group in a few words
  • writes a short summary of each column plus an overall summary of the sprint
  • suggests action items with "CarrotIQ Suggest", weighting the notes by votes and skipping actions you've already created

Action items that come back. Every board has three action-item tabs: Current Retro, Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved. Each item has an owner, and anything still open shows up again at the next retro until someone marks it complete. In Slack workspaces, you can also send the owner a reminder.

A live board when you meet. See who's connected, drag notes into groups, run a timer from 30 seconds to an hour, and vote with one vote per note or dot voting with a limit per person. Anyone can post notes without their name shown, using a per-person setting.

Formats and exports. Five formats are built in: What went well, Start/Stop/Continue, Sailboat, Mad/Sad/Glad and 4Ls, and each team can rename its columns. Each retro's notes export to CSV or XLSX, and the board exports to PDF.

Pricing. Retro Rabbit uses the same model as Retrium: one price per team, unlimited users. Starter is $30 per team per month, $9 less than Retrium Team; Pro AI is $40 and adds CarrotIQ. The 14-day trial includes CarrotIQ and needs no credit card.

2. TeamRetro

TeamRetro, from Australia's GroupMap Technology, covers retrospectives, health checks, estimation and standups, priced by number of teams.

Pricing: Single Team is $25 a month billed monthly or $250 a year, for up to 25 members. Small Organization covers 3 teams for $60 a month or $600 a year, and Large Organization starts at $90 a month or $900 a year for 6+ teams.

Notable features: the trAI assistant is in beta on all plans.

Drawbacks: Single Team stops at 25 members, and guests from outside the team need the Enterprise plan.

3. Neatro

Neatro, from Montréal, runs retros as a guided four-step flow (Comments, Group, Vote, Action Plan) and adds Team Radars for health checks.

Pricing: Premium is $29 per team per month billed monthly, or $23.20 billed annually ($278.40 a year). Pro is $39 monthly or $31.20 annually ($374.40 a year). A free plan covers one team of up to 10 members.

Notable features: its AI can suggest groups of similar comments.

Drawbacks: exports and integrations need a paid plan, and the free plan keeps 30 days of history.

4. Echometer

Echometer is a German retro and team-health tool, with 50+ retro templates and 200+ health-check questions.

Pricing (EUR, per team): Pro is €29 per team per month on an annual term or €35 monthly. Business is €49 or €60. A free plan covers one team with one retro a month after a three-week pilot.

Notable features: AI suggests action items, and it can be switched off per workspace.

Drawbacks: the retro itself runs live, with async input collected through an optional survey beforehand, and exports are PDF and Markdown.

5. Confluence and Jira

Jira doesn't document a retro feature of its own. Instead, "Create a retrospective for this sprint" makes a Confluence page or whiteboard linked to the sprint.

Pricing: Confluence Free covers up to 10 users. For 24 users, Standard is $7.15 per user per month billed monthly, or $1,800 a year billed annually; Premium is $14.10, or $3,550 a year. Jira is priced separately.

Notable features: whiteboard templates include Simple retrospective, 4 Ls and Sailboat, with a timer and voting stamps.

Drawbacks: priced per user, and the Free plan allows 3 active whiteboards per user with no Rovo.

Retrium pricing vs Retro Rabbit

Next tierBusiness: listed at $715 per Team Room per year, billed annuallyPro AI: $40 per team per month, adds CarrotIQ
TopEnterprise: contact salesEnterprise: custom

Both tools bill per team with unlimited users, so the size of each team never changes the bill. For three teams, Retrium Team is 3 × $39 = $117 a month. Retro Rabbit Starter is 3 × $30 = $90, and Pro AI, with CarrotIQ, is 3 × $40 = $120. Retrium Business works out to about $59.58 per Team Room per month, so Pro AI costs less than Business at its list price.

Why Retro Rabbit is our pick for teams leaving Retrium

  • Same pricing model, lower entry price. Per team, unlimited users, and Starter costs $9 less per team per month than Retrium Team.
  • AI in the plan you buy. Retrium's features and pricing pages list no AI features. CarrotIQ's automatic grouping, summaries and suggested action items are part of Pro AI and the trial.
  • The retro starts before the meeting. Notes written during the sprint mean the discussion is about what actually happened.
  • Follow-through on every board. The Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved tabs put last sprint's promises in front of the team before it makes new ones.
  • Async and live in one tool. Collect notes all sprint, then meet for a short live review with a timer and voting.
  • Slack if you want it. Everything works in the web app; Slack adds /retro notes and note reminders for teams that live there.

Moving from Retrium to Retro Rabbit

  1. Export your history. From Team Room History, sticky-note retros export to CSV or TXT, and action items export in full as CSV. Exports stay anonymous. Keep these files as your archive.
  2. Plan around renewal. Retrium says it can't issue refunds, and Business and Enterprise are billed annually in advance, so switch at the end of a term.
  3. Create one Team Room per Retrium Team Room. Pricing works the same way, so your team count carries over. Invite people by email or share a join link.
  4. Keep your favourite format. Start/Stop/Continue, Mad/Sad/Glad, Sailboat and 4Ls are built in. For other techniques, rename the columns.
  5. Bring over only open action items. Re-create unfinished items with their owners in your first retro. From then on they appear in the Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved tabs.
  6. Start the trial at the start of a sprint. Fourteen days covers one full sprint of notes and its retro. Ask everyone to add a note whenever something goes well or badly.
  7. Run the first retro async, then live. Let notes build up, hold a short live session to vote, use CarrotIQ to draft a summary, and agree on one or two action items.

The bottom line

If you're leaving Retrium for AI and price, Retro Rabbit keeps the per-team model you know, costs less at the entry level, and includes CarrotIQ in a plan you can buy today. See Retro Rabbit vs Retrium for a side-by-side view, then try it with one team for one sprint. See plans and start a 14-day trial, no credit card needed.
