TeamRetro is a broad agile-meeting suite. Every plan includes unlimited retros, health checks, estimation and standups, along with an AI assistant (trAI, labelled beta). It charges per team, starting at $25 a month for a single team.
Teams still look for TeamRetro alternatives, and the reasons are usually about fit. The Single Team plan stops at 25 members, and a suite this wide can be more than a team that mostly runs retros needs. Others want a tool built around one habit: collecting notes during the sprint and following up on every action item.
Below are five alternatives, with prices checked October 23, 2026. Retro Rabbit is our product and our pick for teams that want retros to lead to change, so it comes first. The other four follow with their verified prices and features, and TeamRetro's own pricing is further down for reference.
Quick comparison
| Tool | What it is | Pricing (verified) | AI |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retro Rabbit | Async and live sprint retros with action items that carry over | $30 (Starter) or $40 (Pro AI) per team/month, unlimited users | CarrotIQ: automatic grouping, summaries, suggested action items |
| Parabol | Open-source retros, standups and Sprint Poker | $8 per active user/month on Team | AI Suggest Groups and summaries on Team |
| Neatro | Guided retros plus Team Radars | $23.20 per team/month billed annually, $29 monthly | Suggests groups of similar comments |
| Reetro | Retros, health checks and an Action Tracker | $10 per team/month or $100 per team/year on Pro | Marked beta; limited on Pro |
| Echometer | Psychology-based retros and health checks | €29 per team/month (annual term) or €35 monthly | Action-item suggestions |
1. Retro Rabbit
Retro Rabbit (our product) does one job: sprint retrospectives, async and live, that end in action items the team actually follows up. Everything is built around the loop from one retro to the next.
Notes during the sprint. Each team's board stays open all sprint, so people add a note when something happens instead of trying to remember it at the retro. Quick notes on the dashboard drop a note into any Team Room, and in Slack workspaces /retro followed by your note adds it in one message. When the sprint ends, you start the review and the notes are already there.
CarrotIQ does the sorting. On Pro AI, CarrotIQ groups related notes automatically and names each group. It writes a short summary for every column plus an overall sprint summary, and its Suggest button proposes action items weighted by the team's votes, skipping actions you've already created.
Action items that come back. Every action item has an owner. Every board has three tabs, Current Retro, Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved, so last sprint's commitments and anything older that's still open are in front of the team when the next retro starts.
A live board when you meet. The board updates in real time and shows who's connected. Drag notes together to group them, run a timer (presets from 30 seconds to an hour), and vote the way your team prefers: one vote per note, or dot voting with a set number of votes per person.
Notes without your name shown. Each person can switch their name off and post notes without it.
Flat price per team. Starter is $30 per team per month and Pro AI, with CarrotIQ, is $40. Both include unlimited users and unlimited retros, with no member cap: a team of 30 pays the same as a team of 6.
Easy to start. The 14-day trial needs no credit card and includes CarrotIQ. Slack is optional; the web app does everything, and Slack adds /retro notes and reminders for teams that want them. Built-in formats include What Went Well, Start, Stop, Continue, Sailboat, Mad Sad Glad and 4Ls, with columns you can rename. Notes export to CSV or XLSX, and the board to PDF.
2. Parabol
Parabol is an open-source (AGPL-3.0) meeting tool with retrospectives, Sprint Poker, standups and check-ins on every plan, and Team Health checks on paid plans. More in Retro Rabbit vs Parabol.
Pricing. Free Starter covers up to 2 teams with unlimited users, 10 meetings a month, 30 days of history and 3 AI retro summaries. Team is $8 per active user per month, billed monthly; people inactive for 30 days aren't billed. No annual Team price is published.
Notable. On Team, AI suggests groups and writes meeting summaries.
Drawbacks. Pricing is per active user, so the bill grows with headcount.
3. Neatro
Neatro is a retro platform that, like TeamRetro, charges per team. Retros follow four steps (Comments, Group, Vote, Action Plan) and run live or async, and Team Radars cover health checks. See Retro Rabbit vs Neatro.
Pricing. Free for one team of up to 10 members, with unlimited retros and radars and 30 days of history, but no exports or integrations. Premium is $23.20 per team per month billed annually ($278.40 a year) or $29 monthly. Pro is $31.20 annually or $39 monthly. The 14-day Premium trial needs no card.
Notable. Its AI may suggest groups of similar comments for the facilitator to accept or reject.
4. Reetro
Reetro is a low-cost retro tool with health checks, polls, an Action Tracker and AI features marked beta.
Pricing. Free forever for 3 teams of up to 9 members (the tenth person joins read-only), with 10 active boards and one health check a month. Pro is $10 per team per month or $100 per team per year, for up to 60 members per team. Pro Unlimited is $49 a month or $490 a year; Reetro's FAQ describes it as one price for the whole organisation, while the plan card says per team.
Notable. The Action Tracker holds every action item in one place.
Drawbacks. AI features, integrations and anonymous retros are Pro features, and Pro lists only "limited" AI.
5. Echometer
Echometer is a German tool that pairs psychology-based retrospectives with team health checks, hosted on Open Telekom Cloud in Germany.
Pricing (EUR). Free for one team with 25 workspace members and unlimited retro guests; after a three-week pilot it allows one retro a month and keeps 2 in the archive. Pro is €29 per team per month on an annual term or €35 monthly. Business is €49 or €60.
Notable. Its 50+ templates are curated by psychologists.
Drawbacks. Async input comes through an optional survey before the retro. Exports are PDF and Markdown.

Why Retro Rabbit is our pick for teams leaving TeamRetro
- Retros are the meeting you run. If your team opens TeamRetro mainly for retros, Retro Rabbit puts all its attention on that meeting and the sprint around it.
- Notes come in all sprint. The board, Quick notes and the optional Slack command mean nobody has to reconstruct two weeks of work in a ten-minute brainstorm.
- Follow-through is on screen. Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved tabs put open action items in front of the team every time, each with an owner.
- AI handles the tidy-up. CarrotIQ groups and names notes, summarises each column and the sprint, and suggests action items based on votes, so the meeting goes to discussion and decisions.
- No member cap per team. TeamRetro's Single Team plan covers up to 25 members. A Retro Rabbit Team Room has unlimited users at the same flat price.
- Low risk to try. Fourteen days, no credit card, CarrotIQ included.
Moving from TeamRetro to Retro Rabbit
- Export what you want to keep. TeamRetro's Close step downloads summaries, actions, comments and ideas as PDF, Markdown, CSV or Excel, and insights reports download as Excel or CSV.
- List your connections. Note any Jira, Slack, API, webhook or MCP set-ups before you cancel.
- Time it to your renewal. TeamRetro bills monthly or yearly, with a one-month minimum.
- Set up your teams. Create one Team Room per TeamRetro team and invite people by email or with the join link.
- Carry over open action items. Re-create unfinished items with their owners in your first retro, so they show on the Previous Retro tab next time. Keep the exports as your archive.
- Start on day one of a sprint. The 14-day trial then covers a full sprint of notes before your first review.
The bottom line
TeamRetro covers a lot of agile meetings. If what you need is retros that turn into finished action items, Retro Rabbit is built for that loop: notes all sprint, CarrotIQ to group and summarise them, and action items that come back until they're done. See plans and start a 14-day trial, no credit card needed.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best TeamRetro alternative?
Our pick is Retro Rabbit, our own product, for teams that mainly use TeamRetro for retros. Notes go in during the sprint, CarrotIQ groups and summarises them and suggests action items, and last retro's action items show up on the next board, for a flat $30 or $40 per team per month with unlimited users.
How much does TeamRetro cost?
TeamRetro charges per team. Single Team is $25 a month billed monthly or $250 a year (up to 25 team members), Small Organization (3 teams) is $60 a month or $600 a year, and Large Organization (6+ teams) starts at $90 a month or $900 a year. Enterprise (10+ teams) is priced on request.
Does TeamRetro have a free plan?
No. TeamRetro lists no free plan. It offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required, and the minimum subscription is one month.
How is Retro Rabbit priced?
Per team, not per person. Starter is $30 per team per month and Pro AI, which adds CarrotIQ, is $40, both with unlimited users and unlimited retros. The 14-day trial needs no credit card and includes CarrotIQ.
Is there a TeamRetro alternative without a member limit per team?
TeamRetro's Single Team plan covers up to 25 team members; its multi-team plans have unlimited members. Every Retro Rabbit plan includes unlimited users per team, so team size never changes the price.
What does Retro Rabbit's AI do?
CarrotIQ groups related notes automatically and names each group, writes a summary for each column and for the whole sprint, and suggests action items weighted by the team's votes. It's included in Pro AI and in the free trial.
Can my team add retro notes during the sprint?
In Retro Rabbit, yes. Each team's board stays open all sprint, Quick notes on the dashboard add a note to any Team Room, and in Slack workspaces the /retro command adds one in a single message.
Can I export my data from TeamRetro?
Yes. Each meeting's summary, actions, comments and ideas download as PDF, Markdown, CSV or Excel, and insights reports download as Excel or CSV. Keep the files as your archive and re-create open action items, with their owners, in your first Retro Rabbit retro.
