EasyRetro and Retro Rabbit are both purpose-built retrospective tools, and neither charges per seat. EasyRetro sizes its plans by the number of teams they cover. Retro Rabbit charges one flat price per team, with unlimited users in each.
EasyRetro, called FunRetro until November 2020, is a long-running online retro board with card voting, a timer, and AI summaries and grouping on its paid plans. Retro Rabbit is built around one habit: the team adds notes as things happen during the sprint, CarrotIQ groups and summarises them and suggests action items, and last retro's action items show up on every new board.
This page lists EasyRetro's current plan prices, monthly and annual, explains what Retro Rabbit's per-team price includes, and walks through how a sprint works in Retro Rabbit.
Retro Rabbit vs EasyRetro at a glance
- Pricing. EasyRetro's plans are sized by number of teams, from Team (1 team, US$25 a month or US$21 billed annually) to Enterprise (10+ teams, from US$150 a month). Retro Rabbit is $30 (Starter) or $40 with AI (Pro AI) per team per month, whatever the team's size.
- Notes all sprint. Retro Rabbit's board is open the whole sprint, so the retro starts from notes written when things happened.
- AI. CarrotIQ groups related notes automatically, summarises the retro and suggests action items. It's on Pro AI and included in the trial. EasyRetro lists AI summary, grouping and templates on its paid plans.
- Follow-through. Every Retro Rabbit board has Current Retro, Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved action-item tabs.
- Trial. Retro Rabbit gives 14 days with CarrotIQ and no credit card. EasyRetro's monthly plans include a 7-day trial.

What Retro Rabbit's price includes
| Retro Rabbit plan | Price | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $30 per team per month | Unlimited users and retros, the live board, action-item tabs, web dashboard, Slack integration, export |
| Pro AI | $40 per team per month | Everything in Starter, plus CarrotIQ |
| Enterprise | Custom | Everything in Pro AI, plus optional team training and a dedicated account manager |
Retro Rabbit charges per Team Room, which is one team's retro space. The price doesn't change with the size of the team: a squad of 5 and a squad of 12 pay the same, and adding a new hire costs nothing. Every plan includes notes all sprint, the live board with timer and voting, and action items that carry over to the next retro. Pro AI adds CarrotIQ: automatic grouping, summaries and suggested action items.
Annual billing and invoices are available on request. Every team can start with a 14-day trial that includes CarrotIQ, with no credit card. See Retro Rabbit pricing.
AI: CarrotIQ and EasyRetro's AI
CarrotIQ is Retro Rabbit's AI. It's on the Pro AI and Enterprise plans and included in the 14-day trial:
- Automatic grouping. CarrotIQ groups related notes and names each group in a few words. You can still move a note to another group or rename a group.
- Summaries. A short summary for each column plus an overall summary of the sprint, saved with the retro in the Team Room's sprint list.
- Suggested action items. "CarrotIQ Suggest" proposes an action item from the retro's notes, weighted by votes, and skips actions the team has already created.
The aim is to get from a pile of notes to an agreed action quickly. Grouping makes the themes visible, votes show what matters most, and the suggestion gives the team a first draft to edit rather than a blank field.
EasyRetro lists "AI summary, grouping & templates" on its paid plans, and its changelog describes AI that finds groups of similar cards in a column and merges them.
Where Retro Rabbit is better
- Notes all sprint. The board is open the whole sprint. People add a note when something happens, from the board itself or from Quick Notes on the dashboard, which drops a note into any Team Room. The retro starts from a sprint's worth of notes, not from what people remember on the day.
- CarrotIQ, from notes to actions. Automatic grouping, a summary per column and for the whole sprint, and "CarrotIQ Suggest" action items weighted by votes. All three are in Pro AI and in the trial.
- Action items that come back. Each board has Current Retro, Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved tabs, so the team sees what it promised last time before promising anything new. Every action item has an owner, and in Slack workspaces you can send the owner a reminder.
- Pay for exactly the teams you run. Each Team Room is billed on its own, with unlimited users, so a fourth or seventh team adds one team's price rather than moving you to a bigger plan.
- A live board when you meet. A real-time board with a shared timer (30 seconds to an hour) and voting set per Team Room: one vote per note, or dot voting with a maximum per person.
- Notes without your name. Anyone can post a note without their name shown, using a per-person setting.
- Five ready formats, editable columns. Went well / Didn't go well / Learned / Puzzling, Start/Stop/Continue, Sailboat, Mad/Sad/Glad and 4Ls are built in, and you can rename the columns (up to five) to fit your team.
- Export for your records. Download each retro's notes as CSV or XLSX, or the board as a PDF.
- A longer trial. 14 days with CarrotIQ included and no credit card, against 7 days on EasyRetro's monthly plans. That's long enough for a full two-week sprint.
- Slack that collects notes. Optional. EasyRetro's Slack integration posts a message when a new board is created. In Retro Rabbit, people add a note with
/retro your note here, start the review with/retro start, and can get a Slack reminder to add notes on weekdays, at a time each person picks.
How a sprint works in Retro Rabbit
- Add notes as things happen. During the sprint, anyone on the team adds a note to the Team Room's board, from Quick Notes on the dashboard, or with
/retroin Slack. Notes go into the format's columns, such as Start, Stop and Continue. - CarrotIQ groups the notes. Related notes are grouped automatically and each group gets a short name. Move a note or rename a group if you'd put it differently.
- Meet and vote. Start the review, set the timer and vote. With dot voting, each person spreads a fixed number of votes across the notes that matter most to them.
- Read the summary. CarrotIQ writes a short summary per column and an overall summary of the sprint, saved with the retro.
- Agree on actions with owners. "CarrotIQ Suggest" drafts an action item from the notes, weighted by votes. Edit it, assign an owner and save.
- Start the next retro with last sprint's actions. The Previous Retro and Old/Unresolved tabs show what's still open, so the team checks on those first.
Switching from EasyRetro to Retro Rabbit
- Export your boards first. Select several boards and export them as CSV or Excel in one go, or export single boards as PDF, PNG or DOCX. Free users can export PNG or CSV. Keep these files as your archive.
- Time it to your billing. On annual billing, plan the move for your renewal date. EasyRetro says monthly plans can be cancelled any time.
- Create one Team Room per EasyRetro team. You pay per Team Room, with unlimited users in each.
- Pick a format. The five built-in formats cover the classics; see the What went well and Start, Stop, Continue templates. For another EasyRetro template, rename the columns.
- Bring over only open action items. Re-create unfinished items with their owners in your first retro. At the next retro they show up on the Previous Retro tab. Items already in another tracker can stay there.
- Invite the team with one link. Share the Team Room's join link on day one. Anyone who opens it signs up or logs in and joins the team, and the link is valid for 30 days.
- Start the trial at the start of a sprint. Fourteen days covers one sprint of notes and one retro. Let notes build up, then hold a short live session to vote, read the CarrotIQ summary and agree on one or two actions.
